ElectRelease E4

ElectRelease E4 is a two-part, epoxy-based debondable adhesive. E4 bonds to most metals including aluminum and its alloys, steel, stainless steel, and copper.

Properties*:

Lap Shear Strength:	> 2,000 psi (varies with surface finish of bonded parts)
Cure:	1 hr at 80°C or 24 hr at room temperature
Debonding:	10 V d.c. or greater.
Debond Time:	1 second or longer, depending on voltage and load on bond
Pot-life:	40 minutes for a 100 cc quantity
Shelf-life:	> 6 months at room temperature
Availability:	50 cc dual-cartridge, 1 pint container, 1 gallon container

High-Strength Bonding ElectRelease E4 forms a high-strength bond to many metals. At right, a 600 lb. steel beam is supported by two aluminum bars joined with 1 square inch of ElectRelease E4. This secure bond can be broken in seconds with the precise application of electricity across the bars.
